Paramount Schools of Excellence (Paramount) is one of the highest performing school corporations in the State of Indiana. LCFS partners with Paramount and other community organizations for the innovative, collaborative INSPIRE (Identify Needs, Support Potential, Increase Resiliency & Empowerment) program, providing 2Generation (2Gen) services to families to promote achievement of educational, employment, health, and social capital goals. Paramount utilizes a multi-tiered system of support for education to ensure all students have equitable access to a high-quality education; they will focus on youth education, health & well-being, and social capital.
As a pubic school network, students may attend a Paramount school at no charge. Paramount has numerous programs and resources in place that supplement the educational experience, including a school nurse, a school-based counselor, the Paramount Health Data Project (PHDP), Community Management Teams, and a Recovery Process.
The Paramount Health Data Project (PHDP) is based on the premise that there is an interaction between health, poverty and education that impacts overall health and wellness. This project uses student health data to inform decision making in the Response to Intervention (RTI) and the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework to provide earlier and more effective academic interventions.
Recovery is a multi-tiered system of behavior and academic support. The Recovery Process supports teachers in protecting the learning environment from distractions and off-task behaviors while also providing a parallel setting where students continue to work and be academically challenged. Additionally, students utilize the support of a counselor to unpack with and provide for their emotional and social needs.
The Community Management Team works to re-imagine family-school partnerships by building authentic support and bridging learning from school to home through meaningful engagement. Aligned with Paramount’s model, Community Managers focus on external engagement, utilizing the school as the anchor of support. They operate under the idea that trust is often lost if it is only given on school grounds.
